"I have been a loyal customer of Kathy Shultz, State Farm, for years, and they had done everything I have asked and had issues with in a polite and respectful manner. I had 5 auto policies, homeowners, and life insurance policy with them.... Until recently, I had an auto payment that did not go through in October, and the first and only official notification I received was from the MVA saying my insurance has lapsed. No emails, letters or phone calls from State Farm. Due to this dilemma, I called and tried to fix it when it was brought to my attention and made a substantial payment to be current. I was told it would take a few days for my new cards to populate, but not to worry because I was covered moving forward. A month later I received paper checks from State Farm saying that "I terminated" my auto insurance policies, here is a refund (5 different vehicles, 5 different refund checks). I once again called and they said they needed an updated picture of my driver's license, and since they didn't have it, they canceled my policy AGAIN. Now I am looking at THOUSANDS in fines from the MVA for uninsured vehicles, and when I called Kathy Shultz state farm office, they just said "not our problem," we can offer you a new rate that is almost triple your old rate since you are now considered a new customer. All I would have needed is proper communication, I receive so many junk emails and letters from them; how hard is it to send an official letter? According to the State Insurance department, "The notice must be sent by certified mail or first-class mail tracking." I am extremely disappointed with them and will be contacting the State Insurance department so that hopefully you will not have the same troubles I am having right now with this office. As a side note, I did request that the representative bring up this dilemma to Kathy herself and he said that he did. So I am not posting this as an ignorant person who didn't try to escalate when asking for help. My hands are tied and they did not help me at all. Hope this long post helps someone else. I will update this post if they rectify the issue. Edit: I wish you would have tried more than 1 voicemail to contact clients. (I don't check voicemail that often, who does?). Show or tell me (prove it, per MD law) that you tried more then that and I would say you are law biding insurance agent. I am more than willing to share my Verizon phone records to show you didn't."
